TrademarkScout ("we", "us", "our") is a trademark monitoring service operated at trademarkscout.net. We help brand owners detect unauthorized use of their trademarks across e-commerce platforms and advertising networks.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: name, email address, and authentication data provided when you create an account via Clerk.
Trademark data: brand names, trademark serial/registration numbers, and domains you provide for monitoring.
Billing information: payment details are processed directly by Stripe and are never stored on our servers.
Usage data: pages visited, features used, and scan results viewed, collected to improve the service.
Communications: messages you send us via the enforcement or lawyer-match forms.

3. How We Use Your Information

To provide, operate, and improve the TrademarkScout service.
To run daily trademark infringement scans on your behalf.
To send alert emails when new infringers are detected (only if enabled).
To process payments and manage subscriptions via Stripe.
To respond to support requests and enforcement inquiries.
To comply with legal obligations.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

Clerk — authentication and user management.
Stripe — payment processing.
Resend — transactional email delivery.
Brave Search API — powering free scans (brand name only, no personal data).
Hunter.io — contact intelligence for Agency plan users (infringer research only).
Law enforcement or legal process when required by law.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Scan results and infringer records are retained for up to 24 months. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@trademarkscout.net.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (managed by Clerk) and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Security

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS) for data in transit and store passwords via Clerk's secure authentication infrastructure. Stripe handles all payment card data under PCI-DSS compliance.

9. Children

TrademarkScout is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
